Neighborhood Leadership Workshop Series starts Oct. 25 — Sign up now!
Since 2015, FutureHeights’ Neighborhood Leadership Workshop Series (NLWS) has helped residents turn their interest in their communities into action.
The free, five-session program brings together Cleveland Heights and University Heights residents and stakeholders who want to become more effective leaders in their neighborhoods. Through a cohort-based approach, participants develop practical leadership and community-building skills, learn how to identify and build on neighborhood assets, and gain tools and resources they can use to address issues and pursue projects where they live.
But NLWS is about more than workshops. One of the program’s greatest strengths is the relationships participants build with one another. Residents from different neighborhoods and backgrounds come together, share their experiences and ideas, and develop connections that often continue long after the workshops end.
The next Neighborhood Leadership Workshop Series kicks off Sunday, October 25, and will meet for five Sunday sessions from 3–6 p.m. The sessions will take place on October 25, November 8, November 22, December 6 and December 20.
At its heart, NLWS is based on a simple idea: every neighborhood has people who care about making it better, and those people can become powerful community leaders when they have the skills, resources and connections to take action.
If you’re interested in becoming more involved in your neighborhood, we encourage you to apply. Applications are available here. For more information email info@futureheights.org or call 216-320-1423.
FutureHeights is proud to offer NLWS as part of its broader community-building work—helping residents build stronger relationships, take action on issues they care about and contribute to a more vibrant Cleveland Heights and University Heights.
